Free Slow-Mo Overlays

Happy New Year! (sort of still)

We’ve been experimenting with different filming techniques using the Sony FX3 over the last few weeks and we’ve had a lot of fun.

One of the things we tried out was testing the camera’s slow-motion ability shooting 200fps in 1080HD, 10 bit 422.
We picked up some paint, a plastic tub and the rest is history.  This was all shot on a Samyang 100mm, 2.8 Macro Lens. This lens is highly recommended if you are on the lookout for a manual focus macro lens. The shots were lit from above with an Aputure 300dmkii and the Aputure Lantern.

What we don’t show in this is the painstaking process of ridding the plastic of bubbles! Bear this in mind if you want to do a shoot like this. It is great fun though.
Here is a quick Behind the Scenes of our filming session.

We have decided to give away the footage as a free download for anyone who needs some cool overlays for projects. You could overlay with text, logos or use just use as they are.

The files were shot in S-Log and graded in Davinci Resolve using Butterly Luts Natural Rec709 plus some secondary grading.

No need to credit us but if you do end up using them for anything it would be fun to see what you get up to!

Download the files here. The files will be available for 3 months before they expire 4eva.

Thanks!
